Saying Good-bye To A Great Dog

It may be better stated as saying goodbye to a good friend.  Jack entered Coon Dog Heaven on September 3rd of last year.  There's something about a man and his dog that words can't explain and many don't understand.  When you add that to a history full of great hunts and memories, the loss is even harder to take.

Jack was only in our family for a handful of months, but it was long enough to leave his place.  There will probably never be another dog to fill his shoes.  But we are grateful for the time we had him, that he has a resting place here on our land, and for the memories that still fill our home!

This was Tommy's Christmas present this year!  The plaque reads "Alot of other people had tried and failed but when Tommy and Jack got there, in 30 minutes they had his ol' hide nailed. 2011"  And the story goes just like that.  This coon had eluded many hunters and their dogs in the chicken house it was visiting, even missing a part of one ear from a dog who got close.  But in just a few minutes, Jack and Tommy had the job done!

And to my husband, I hope you'll find another dog that will be as great as Jack.  And since I know he's irreplaceable, I hope you can at least come close!  We love you!
